Famosa por desenvolver soluções inovadoras, uma das gigantes de Mountain View (no Vale do Silício) anunciou a criação do "Google Government Innovation Lab" em janeiro de 2015. A iniciativa visa a identificação de alguns desafios governamentais e a criação de equipes que irão propor soluções inovadoras, de modo a reinventar os serviços públicos.
Provavelmente, os trabalhos serão baseado na holocracia e estarão utilizando a metodologia de gestão de projetos e os aplicativos do Google. Relembrando que, internamente, os projetos de inovação são chamados de "moonshots" (tiros em direção à Lua).

■ "The end goal is to enable the government organization to innovate well and often, to be great leaders of innovation";
■ "And, based on success, Waterman said a goal is to eventually open it up to other government organizations as a safe haven for innovative problem solving";
■ "The goal isn't to create new apps or use Google software, said Jason Wiebe, an administrative analyst who is coordinating the lab for Kern County. “It’s about coming in with a blank slate and creating something new — whether that’s technology driven or not.”;
■ "James Waterman, Google’s regional manager for state and local government, called the lab an initiative to foster innovators and institutionalize moonshot thinking in government."
